Terms of Service: Fortify8 AI Bulk Editor

These terms are between you, the Shopify merchant who installs Fortify8 AI Bulk Editor ("the app"), and Fortify8 ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app, you agree to them. Shopify's own terms also apply to your use of Shopify and the Shopify App Store.

1. The app

The app lets you find products in your Shopify store and change many of them at once. Every change is shown in a preview, applied only after you approve it, recorded in your history, and can be undone within the limits in section 4.

The app is free to install and has three plans, billed through your Shopify invoice: Free, Growth ($20 a month) and Pro ($59 a month), each paid plan with a 7-day free trial. Prices are in USD. Each plan's limits are listed on the app's Plan page and in its Shopify App Store listing: AI requests, products per edit, products per export, how long edit history is kept, scheduled edits waiting at once, how many automations can be on and how often you can start a sync. You choose, change or cancel your plan through Shopify; you only pay for a plan you choose. We may add, change or remove features, plans or limits; we'll tell you before a change to the price or limits of your plan takes effect. On every plan, one edit runs at a time per store and the rest wait their turn.

Automations (Growth and Pro): when you turn on a repeating edit or a product rule, you approve it once. Each run then previews and applies its changes without asking again, is recorded in your edit history with who approved the automation, and can be undone like any edit. A run much larger than the one you approved, over your plan's limits, or a rule changing the same product again and again, stops and waits for your approval instead. Product rules can only make changes that give the same result every time. You can pause or delete an automation at any time; deleting it doesn't undo the edits it already made. Scheduled exports only read your catalog and never change your store.

2. AI features

  • Ask AI requests are limited by your plan: 10 a month on Free, 300 a month on Growth, and on Pro no monthly limit but a fair-use limit of 100 a day. Months are calendar months and days are calendar days, both in UTC. Ask AI search and AI-drafted edits count together. The Products page shows how many requests are left.
  • AI suggestions are drafts. AI can be wrong. You review every change in the preview and decide whether to approve it, and you're responsible for the changes you approve.
  • Ask AI uses Anthropic's Claude. Our Privacy Policy says what is sent to Anthropic.

3. Your responsibilities

  • Use the app only for your own store and only lawfully.
  • Check the preview before you approve a change, especially a large one.
  • Keep your own copy of important catalog data. The app's export is one way to do this.
  • Don't try to break, overload or get around the app's limits, and don't copy or reverse engineer it.

4. What undo can and can't reverse

Undo puts back the values a field had before an edit made with this app. It can't:

  • restore a product, variant or other item that was deleted after the edit;
  • remove a product category from a product that had none before the edit, because Shopify doesn't let apps clear a category once it's set;
  • reverse changes made outside the app or by other apps.

Undo also replaces anything changed in the same fields after the edit, for example stock counts that changed because of sales. The undo preview shows the current value and the value it will restore, so you can check before you approve.

Only changes that were applied can be undone; items that failed or were skipped changed nothing. You can undo an edit while it's in your edit history, and a plan limit never stops an undo. Edit history is kept for 30 days on Free, 1 year on Growth and with no time limit on Pro; after you move to a plan that keeps less, older edits stay for 30 more days. An edit with an automatic revert still to come is kept until the revert runs. Edit history is also deleted with the rest of your store's data after you uninstall (see the Privacy Policy), so undo isn't available after that.

5. Your data

Your store's data stays yours. We use it only to run the app for you, as described in our Privacy Policy (https://fortify8.com/apps/ai-bulk-editor/privacy). Export files are deleted automatically after 30 days.

6. No warranty

The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be error-free, always available, or right for your purpose.

7. Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, sales, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim about the app is limited to [the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim, or US$100 if more: confirm with your lawyer].

8. Suspension and ending these terms

You can stop at any time by uninstalling the app. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if your use puts the app or other stores at risk, or if the law requires it. We may also stop offering the app; if we do, we'll give you reasonable notice [confirm: e.g. 30 days] so you can export your data. When your access ends, your store's data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Changes to these terms

We'll post changes on this page with a new effective date. If a change is significant, we'll also tell you in the app [or by email: confirm]. If you keep using the app after a change, the new terms apply.
